Ajijic is situated near the city of Guadalajara (35 mi.) in the Northern shore of Lake Chapala in the central part of the state of Jalisco in the Pacific region of the Mexican plateau. The plateau is flanked by two major mountain ranges -- the Sierra Madre Occidental in the west and the Sierra Madre Oriental in the East. Ajijic enjoys a great semiarid weather with mild and dry winter and spring seasons.
